17 SepDo you think being widowed is a privilege?

Hello lovely people

There is so much misery and complaining in the world that it is quite refreshing when you find a widowed person who understands their experience.

I came across a website where the widow defined widowhood as follows:

It means you are one of the lucky people in the world who found their true love!

It means that you understand much more about the world and the world of emotion.

That is what widowhood is about.  It is an accelerated journey of self-discovery and a much greater understanding of the world.

Of course there is also the other side of being widowed, namely that you could be relieved that a person who turned out not to be your true love finally left you.   If that was your experience, you also learned about balance and the second statement will still apply to you.

Widowhood is a journey, and not a punishment.  The journey does come to an end, and life does look better at the end of the journey.  The question is:  How long do you want to stay on the journey?

Please leave a comment if you feel inspired.
