20 SepIs grief the same as Love?

Hello lovely people

I came across a quote saying that love and grief are alike, because both have the power to change lives forever.

I am sorry, but I cannot see the likeness between grief and love.

It is true that both change lives forever, but grief and love are diametrically opposite in so many ways.

Grief is an emotion, whereas Love is a feeling.

What is the difference?

Try this exercise:  assume a facial and body expression that will tell people you are confused.  Take note of what happens in your body.  Now change your facial and body expression to show that you are sad.  Do you notice the change in your body?

If I ask you two days from now to express confusion again, will you do it in a different way?  Probably not, because you know how “confused” looks and feels, just as you know how “sad” looks and feels.

Now think of the first time you held your child in your arms, or when your soulmate told you they loved you.  Assume the same facial and body expression you did at the time, and feel the same as you did at the time.  If you struggle with that, try to express what you felt into one single word.  Difficult, isn’t it?   That is a feeling.

This is just one difference between grief and Love.

Of course you can choose to remain stuck in grief, or you can work towards becoming Love.  You are in control.

Love and Light
