People do not talk about death until they absolutely have to. This normally happens when somebody dies and those remaining behind have more questions than answers.
The problem is that they then really struggle to find somebody to talk to. There is nothing more puzzling and isolating than an experience which takes away the person you really want support from.
Even worse is where you had no time to say goodbye or you have other unfinished business with the deceased person.
Bereavement is the one experience which turns most of your beliefs about the world you live in upside down and this is quite unsettling.
That is precisely why Sandra Gilfillan and I have decided to hold a series of teleseminars on the topic.
