09 SepYou are Widowed, but Life Goes on

Hello lovely people

I read this quote today: “The world doesn’t stop because you’re widowed, divorced, depressed & destitute.”

For anyone that is either widowed, depressed, divorced or destitute, this probably sounds unsympathetic. Coming from one person who can tick all four these boxes, it sounds a bit cynical.

Sadly, it is the truth. The world does keep moving, regardless of what happens to you.

Did you know that becoming widowed is a choice that you made before you were even born? You come into this life with a blueprint that you then live. Every choice you ever make in your life is part of this blueprint.

When you know this, you are able to look at your life from a completely different angle. Your focus changes from being a victim and struggling through each day, to being in control and striving to understand what is happening to you.

Once you have this different focus, you also understand the process that you use daily to make decisions, and you are able to make better decisions.

We are far more creative than we believe. We create our own misery as well as our own joy. We do not notice the joy when we create misery, and conversely we do not notice the misery when we create joy.

Being widowed can either place you on a fast track to endless misery, or it can be the incredible spiritual experience that it is meant to be.

Whether you get back in charge of your life sooner or later is entirely up to you.

You can regain your balance by applying specific techniques which are described in my book Coping with Widowhood – a Spiritual Approach.

Meanwhile, the world keeps turning. I trust that you will find the side which is exposed to the sun and bask in it.

Love and Light
Elsabe
